In September of 2011 Mr. Joe Wagner, Business Academy teacher, and his Entrepreneurship students embarked on a plan to create a student run retail facility at Carlisle High School. As students studied the Entrepreneurship curriculum, they applied the lessons learned in the classroom to the development of authentic business plans. These plans were then presented t0 interested students, administrators, teachers, business leaders and community members at the conclusion of the school year.

During the summer of 2012 and fall of 2012, details of the business plans were realized as the school, local community, and business leaders worked to build the retail facility using donations of time, materials, and money. Not a single taxpayer dollar was used to fund the project, reflective of the district’s values of student achievement, stakeholder engagement and financial stewardship. Come join the district’s students on October 30, 2012 as they celebrate the grand opening of their first class retail facility.
