The 2013 Showcase Home is a traditional log home with wraparound porches and a loft overlooking the great room. It will have plenty of extras including stone fireplace, granite countertops, custom closets, beautiful kitchen and vanity cabinets, and plenty of landscaping details. The house will be sold at a public auction on March 9, 2013 in the Equine Center of the PA Farm Show Complex.
The house may be toured during the PA Home Show which runs from March 2 – March 10, 2013. There will be several other items available at the auction to include a 22’ x 40’ prefinished cabin which is also loaded with extras, a 12’ x 20’ storage garage which includes a garage makeover, a beautiful outdoor root bench, and some other items.
The showcase projects are built by students from CPAVTS in the Carpentry, Masonry, Electrical, HVAC, and Horticulture/ Landscaping programswhose students are members of the Student Chapter of the National Association of Home Builders. All proceeds from the sale of the showcase projects go to the student chapter and are used to provide scholarships and awards to student members. Supporting efforts are also supplied by the culinary, graphics, welding and electronics programs. Altogether there are over 100 students per day working on this project.
